Autism Acceptance Month happens every April, and is a month dedicated to supporting and accepting autistics. Autism Acceptance Month started in 2010 as a response to the non-Autistic-run organizations that call April “Autism Awareness Month” and use the month to raise money by spreading harmful “autism awareness” messages about autistics. Autism Acceptance Month is about celebrating and supporting autistic people, and spreading positive messages about autism.
